CONSUME
The Consume series is a Ceramic Sculpture/ Painting series that reflects on our human habits and increasingly entangled relationships with digital media. Each piece centers around a stark white humanoid figure-drawn into devices like phones, tablets, etc, entwined in red wire. These figures with deep, void eyes represent a loss of self-identity and character, as they are absorbed and distracted by the screens around them. The red wire- designed to have snake-like or malicious intent- represents a living force our devices have over us, and displays a means of an entangled relationship we have with our devices.
Rather than offering a solution, this series invites viewers to pause and reflect on their own digital consumption. Are we in control of the media we engage with, or are we being shaped by it? Consume serves as a Mirror—a quiet but urgent call to self-awareness.
